Zhangqu Fm
Type Locality and Naming
North Anhui. The Zhangqu Formation is named by the Jiangsu Party and Anhui Party of Regional Geological Survey (1976). The type section is located near Longshan of Zhangqu Village, Jiuding Township, Lingbi County, Anhui Province. The Zhangqu Formation first appears in the Guidebook of 1: 200 000 Scale Geological Map of Xuzhou Sheet, which is published in 1978.

Lithology and Thickness
The Zhangqu Fm consists of two parts: Lower part of gray thin- medium- thick bedded limestone interbedded with purple red calcareous shale and marl with the thin-bedded limestone showing rib-like bands after weathering. Upper part of gray medium- to thick-bedded crystalline dolomite interbedded with argillaceous limestone, calcareous shale and oolitic limestone with wavy beddings and bird's-eye structures. The formation is 294- 362 m thick.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Edge-wise calcirudite of the bottom is conformable with the underlying Jiudingshan Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by the Weiji Fm
Regional extent
North Anhui. The Zhangqu Formation is distributed in the Jiuding Hills, Lingbi County, Anhui Province, and in Shendian, Weiji, Tongshan County, Jiangsu Province.

Fossils
Stromatolites: Minjaria nimbifera, Acaciella f., Pseudokussiella f., Baicalia f., Tungussia f. etc. Microplants: Siphonophycus sp., Trachysphaeridium sp., Michystridium sp. and triangular calcareous sponge-spicules.
